Connection Matters.
GROUPS allow us to connect with others and with God.

Join a GROUP

At St Wilfrid's, we encourage everyone to join a Connect Group as we believe that they are an integral way for everyone to feel a sense of relationship and connectedness to church life and community.

However, we also understand that not all of our Groups are the same and that it may take time for people to find the one that is right for them. Consequently, we encourage everyone to try a few different groups before feeling like they need to commit to any and our Group leaders are very happy to discuss how their groups run with anyone who is interested.

So, if you're interested in joining a Group, let us know by expressing an interest in finding out more by clicking on one of the links below.

Types of GROUPS

  • General groups, like all of our groups, place a high value on social connectedness and community formation while continuing to lean into the mission and vision of the church.

  • No matter what stage of life you are in we want you to find a group that works best for you. Whether you have recently experienced the joy of child birth, are enjoying an empty nest, navigating the parenting of teenagers or you are a youth or university student we are confident there is group for you.

  • A GROUP does not have to be overly complex. It can be as simple as getting together with a group of people, from your church community, to play football every week. We want to encourage you to find a group that fits your interests in a way that helps you connect deeper with the Saint Wilfrid Church community.

  • Some GROUPS meet often and others only occasionally. Occasional GROUPS usual gather to encourage connection and are a great way to introduce friends to church.

Our GROUPS…

  • Barnham Group

    Barnham

All are welcome at Steve and Jo's group in Barnham. The group has a mixed demographic of people mostly in their 50's and is very informal. Discussions tend to focus around Scripture and attempting to get into some of life's big questions. It provides a chance to meet together and build relationships as part of the church family, usually over tea and cake.

  • Central Bognor

Keith and Angela's group meet in central Bognor for Bible study, discussion and social connection. This group's typical age range is 70-90 and new members are always welcome.

  • Foundations

The Foundations course is an eight week course that is ideal for Christians who are either young in their faith or have never been taught the foundations of the Christian faith. The course is intentionally set in a relaxed environment allowing questions to be easily asked as matters arise. So subjects such as what it is to be born again, the Grace of God, the importance of Forgiveness are covered. The group meets on Tuesdays at 7.30pm.

  • Sea View

Welcome to the Sea View Bible Study Group. We’re a small group that meets fortnightly on Tuesdays at 2:30 pm. We study the Bible in an open and friendly atmosphere, where all points of view are welcome. Our meetings are usually 1 1/2 to 2 hours long, after which we enjoy refreshments and socialise.

  • Evening Life Group Pagham

Peter and Jenny’s group meet at 7pm at their home in Pagham. They share blessings and problems, have tea, coffee & prayer and enjoy Bible Study with everyone participating, then finish off with conversations over another cup of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and cakes.

  • Felpham

Our group meets fortnightly on a Tuesday and we break for school holidays. Each week we start with testimonies of encouragement.

We believe that God loves to communicate with his children. Through varied meetings and easy activities (words, pictures, prayers etc), we aim to create an environment in which everyone can contribute and experience God’s love. We value honesty, openness and a willingness to participate.

  • Table Talk

Hosted by Steve and Brenda Pownall, this group provides an opportunity to share life, let the Bible speak and pray together. 7.30 - 9pm Wednesdays, weekly in school term times. Location is just around the corner from Saint Wilfrid church.

  • Youth

We’ve got some big plans brewing for an awesome Youth GROUP. If you’re aged between 11-17, add your details to find out more.
